I have always had a passion and love for pottery. This passion led me to want to learn and understand how a ceramic piece is made. During a trip to the Farmer's Market in 2001, I discovered Omaha Clay Works. Tom Harnack was demonstrating throwing a mound of clay and turning the clay into a beautiful vessel. Shortly thereafter, I attended classes at Omaha Clay Works. Dan Toberer was my instructor. While Dan was my first instructor, I have received very valuable guidance and techniques from other artists at Omaha Clay Works over the years. I have also attended numerous workshops to improve my skill and understanding on the different types of clay bodies, techniques, and glazes.

I have worked with earthenware and stoneware. I have currently settled into using mainly stoneware and enjoy making functional pottery.

Pottery is a great escape for me. I find it very therapeutic. My goals are to continue to improve my technical skills, as well as, my artistic growth.
